Young Demographics

Take a close look at this picture of the morning assignment meeting at TV Maldives. The average age of the participants is 19, with some as young as 16. At 28, political reporter Heena is the senior in the bunch. Imagine what would happen if our PBS news operation were run by high school and college kids. Heena and Rilwan are working on a special report about rehabilitation in the country's prisons. We're looking forward to the results of their time spent inside a prison talking with the inmates. Also on the agenda are reports on civil service replacing government patronage and a school controversy on a neighboring island.
