On the Road Again

A quick stop in Singapore on the way back to work at TV Maldives. It's a 17 hour flight from LAX to Singapore and then another four hours to Male, the Maldivian capital (pronounced Mah-lay). On the way you lose a day by crossing the date line, so it takes a full three days of your life to get to Maldives.
I have to praise the many transit services that are offered at the Singapore Airport, including free internet kiosks, low cost shower and exercise facilities and relaxing areas with koi ponds. Every major city airport should be like this.
The free city tour took us to the "fountain of wealth" which is Singapore's feng shui to bring money into the city. It's the largest fountain in the world.
We did a little sightseeing on our own, soaking up a little British colonial atmosphere at the Raffles Hotel.
We also discovered why the above-ground streets are so empty: there is an entire city underground with busy restaurants, walkways and shopping malls.
