Moving Day

These construction workers are dismantling the editing room that was reserved for the VIP crew, which was mostly used to shoot official footage of President Gayoom and other top officials. The flattering coverage went so far as to only shoot the president from his "good" side.
The VIP operation is moving to an edit room on the other side of the newsroom, but its role is changing. As the president campaigns for a new term, his election activities will be covered independently by journalists from TVM news as well. The role of the VIP crew will continue to evolve after the election, but my recommendation has been to move it into the president's press office. The space freed up by the move will be used to create more desk space for TVM journalists.
