Even though Maldives doesn't have a team in the World Cup, the entire country has FIFA futbol fever. The non-stop party begins with the first match. I'm holding a replica of the cup that's used as a prop at TVM. No jokes, please, about the fact that this may be the closest an American will get to the World Cup! I'm for Team USA all the way. You can buy bracelets in the stores here to declare your loyalty to Brazil, Argentina, Germany or Spain. I haven't seen a USA bracelet yet.
I can watch the Lakers vs Boston in the NBA championships on ESPN. The live games are usually on while I'm eating my tuna and tortillas for breakfast. Go Lakers!
